This policy explains what we collect on nonprofitcfotools.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Steward Software LLC ("we," "us"). It covers this website only — the StewardSoft product suite (Tally, ClearBooks, Cultivate) has its own policy at stewardsoft.org/privacy.
What we collect
- Your email address, and any message you write, when you submit a form — to receive a tool download or to send us a tool suggestion. These are the only details we ask you for.
- Basic technical data your browser sends automatically (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages you view), logged by our hosting provider to operate and secure the site.
We do not collect financial data, bank information, account credentials, or payment details on this site, and we do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.
How we use it
- To deliver the tool you requested.
- To occasionally email you when we publish a new tool — only if you gave us your email.
- To read and, where appropriate, respond to the tool suggestions you send us.
- To operate, maintain, and secure the site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Who processes your information
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site and its forms. They process your information only to provide their service to us:
- Formspree — receives submissions from our tool-download forms. See Formspree's privacy policy.
- Netlify — hosts the website and receives submissions from the "suggest a tool" form. See Netlify's privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the site and its users.
Email and opt-out
If we email you about new tools, every message includes a way to unsubscribe. You can opt out at any time, and we honor opt-outs promptly. You can also email us to be removed.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — just email us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); contact us to exercise any of them.
Data retention
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep tool suggestions for as long as they're useful for planning, then remove them.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for nonprofit finance professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
